Ruth Roland.

Born in San Francisco, Cal., 1892. Her first appearance was at the age of four, at the California Theatre in San Francisco, afterwards touring the East becoming known as "Baby Ruth," California's favorite child actress.

She later appeared with Ed Holden Company in child parts, and in vaudeville in the Broadway Trio. This led to stock engagements with both Morosco and Belasco Stock Companies, and a vaudeville engagement covering two seasons on the Orpheum circuit.

After completing her education she joined the Glass Stock Company, playing ingénue parts, later touring the Southwest in repertoire, and one season playing Majestic time in vaudeville.

Started in the pictures with Kalem Company as leading woman, and has been with them ever since in the same capacity, and is now known as The Kalem Girl, having been featured in a picture of that title, showing her in all her many accomplishments — swimming, shooting, motoring, horsemanship, etc.

During her long association with the Kalem Company as their leading comedy star, she has taken hundreds of roles ranging from a fisher girl to a society belle. Miss Roland is one of the most popular actresses appearing on the screen today.

Address: Kalem Company, Hollywood, Cal.
