San Diego, Cal.; early career, newspaper and publicity work, cartoon work, commercial art, music teacher, concert work; m. p. career, joined Universal in 1913, went to London to collaborate with E. Phillips Oppenheim on The Black Box serial, worked in Universal eastern office on return, back to Pacific coast, wrote for Henry McRae, for Otis Turner, later for Lloyd [Frank Lloyd]; served 6 mos. as film editor and in July was made director. Is accomplished athlete, fancy dancing, etc. Wght. 135; hght. 5 ft. 8 in.; light brown hair, blue eyes. Studio ad., Universal City, Cal.
