Beautiful Claire Whitney and Arthur Bachrach, of the Blaché Studios, carried away the dancing honors at the Exhibitors’ Exposition at Grand Central Palace, on Tuesday, June 9th, and were presented with a large silver cup by King Baggot, who headed the dignified judges of the contest.

Miss Whitney was a clever stage dancer before entering the realm of motion picture stars and, although she has appeared in nothing but the most serious dramas for several years, her interpretation of the tantalizing tango showed her to be as much at home on the waxed floor as she is before the camera. She has successfully entered a number of contests for dancers held in New York ball rooms and her trophies of the “one, two, three — dip” maneuvers make a handsome collection. A publicity agent conceived the idea of her dancing at the exhibition with James J. Corbett, with whom she will appear in the Blaché [Herbert Blaché | Alice Guy] picture production of The Burglar and the Lady, but “Gentleman Jim” confessed that he was not as handy with his feet as with his hands, and the plan fell by the wayside. The photograph of Miss Whitney is that of an oil painting of herself presented by her admirers of her acting art.
