Bertram Bracken.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1879. Mr. Bracken’s first stage experience was in 1898, at the Hay Market Theatre, in Chicago, playing juvenile roles, remaining in stock for some time. He then wrote and produced College Life, touring the middle states with his own company.

He first entered moving pictures in 1910, joining the Star Film Company, playing heavy roles under the direction of Gaston Meliès. From there, Mr. Bracken toured the world as managing producer with Gaston Meliès, going to the South Sea Islands, Australia, and the Orient. On his return he became associated with the Western Lubin Company as director for one year.

Mr. Bracken is now with the Balboa Amusement Company at Long Beach, Cal., as head director, producing feature films.

He has successfully directed the following well-known productions, Sacrificial Fires, St. Elmo, The Square Triangle, and many others.
