Christie, Al. E., director, Christie; b. London, Canada; educ. N. Y.; early career, property man, then actor with Wilton Lackaye, played in Man from Home; m. p. career, gen. mgr. Centaur for Horsley [David Horsley] in 1907, directed “Mutt and Jeff” series, then to Universal, producing over 300 comedies, of 250 of which he was author, also 5-reel B’way U features, Mrs. Plum’s Pudding, with Marie Tempest, “Sallie’s Blighted Career,” with Edna Aug, “Is Matrimony a Failure?” “Charley’s Aunt,” “All the Comforts of Home,” etc. Now head of Christie Film Co., and producing dir. Member of the Hollywood Bd. of Trade. Studio ad., Hollywood, Cal.
